Eagles-Steelers stock watch: Birds' passing game returns to form

In their biggest remaining test of the regular season, the Eagles took down the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-13, in large due to the passing efforts of Jalen Hurts. The defense limited the Steelers to just 163 net yards of offense. The Eagles’ win streak extends to 10 games, a franchise record.

Up: Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts led the passing game to a strong performance, rebounding from a shaky showing last week. The quarterback went 25-of-32 for 290 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 45 yards and a Tush Push touchdown.

Up: A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith

The Eagles' top two receivers in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith each commanded 10 or more targets. Brown finished with eight receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown, while Smith hauled in 11 catches for 109 yards and a touchdown.

Up: Darius Slay

As the Steelers were driving deep in Eagles territory early in the third quarter seeking a comeback, Najee Harris fumbled a pitch from Russell Wilson. Darius Slay fell on the loose ball to kill Pittsburgh’s momentum.

Up: Kenneth Gainwell

Backup running back Kenneth Gainwell was particularly effective as a receiver. His third-and-long catch-and-run reception late in the third quarter helped pick up a new set of downs and set up an Eagles Tush Push touchdown.

Down: Ball security

The Eagles had a pair of fumbles in the first half, including one from Jalen Hurts and another from Cooper DeJean on a punt return. However, the Eagles defense stepped up and the Steelers only managed three points off of those recoveries.

Down: Tyler Steen

Tyler Steen took over at left guard in the third quarter in place of an injured Landon Dickerson. In a span of 13 plays, Steen was called for two holding penalties. The Eagles ultimately settled for a 41-yard field goal on the drive.
