Missouri sexual abuse case against former Philadelphia IRS chief dismissed
St. Louis prosecutors drop sexual abuse case against former Philly IRS chief .
Prosecutors in St. Louis have withdrawn a misdemeanor sexual abuse charge against Gregory Allen Floyd, the former top IRS agent in Philadelphia.
In a one-sentence Aug. 28 court filing, assistant prosecutor Kyra H. Short said the "state elects not to prosecute."
Police initially said that when Floyd was visiting St. Louis in September 2017, he grabbed a woman around the waist and groped her buttocks and vagina through her clothes. The woman told police that she had been socializing with Floyd and other IRS employees.
In an email, Floyd's Missouri attorney, Joseph W. Flees, said the dismissal was "likely due to the weak evidence."
Floyd was with the IRS for more than two decades. After his arrest, he left the federal tax agency.
