Trapeta B. Mayson named next poet laureate of Philadelphia

Born in Liberia and raised in North Philadelphia and Germantown, Mayson writes about immigrants' struggles and triumphs. A licensed social worker, she hopes to “touch base with social service agencies, particularly those pertaining to mental health.”
