What I Do
As a copy editor and print designer, I alternate between selecting and copy editing wire stories, slotting sports pages, and laying out the sports section. I also occasionally design A1 and the A section pages.
My Background
I've worked mostly in sports during a 40-year career that began in Tulsa, Okla., (sportswriter covering recreation, high schools, and colleges), and continued in Nashua, N.H., where I coordinated high school sports coverage and wrote a weekly column.
I moved to Charleston, S.C., in 2003 to work on the sports copy desk at the Post and Courier, later moved to news to be wire editor, and later filled in for multiple roles, including digital editing. I was laid off in 2023 and, after five months, landed a job at The Inquirer.
