What I Do

I'm The Inquirer's Pop Music Critic. I cover Philly music makers of all genres, spotlighting local acts on the rise, telling stories from throughout the city's rich music history, and reviewing big-name touring acts when they come to town.

My Background

I've been at The Inquirer since 1990, when I started out as an editorial assistant, making coffee and copies and serving as support staff for a team of national reporters.

Before that, I grew up by the beach in Ventnor in South Jersey. I graduated from Holy Spirit High School and the University of Pennsylvania, where I majored in English and political science. I learned more from a three-minute record than I ever learned in school. I live outside of Philadelphia in Montgomery County.
