Maria McIlwain

I focus on women's sports at The Inquirer, and I'm also a copy editor. I oversee our women's sports coverage as well as our day-to-day print production in the sports department.

I've been at The Inquirer since March 2022. Before The Inquirer, I was a copy editor on the combined print desk of the Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express-News and a digital producer at the Chronicle. I also covered high school and college sports in Texas, Kansas, and Alabama.

I graduated from Auburn University with degrees in journalism and psychology.
