Gina Mizell

I have been a 76ers beat writer at The Inquirer since 2021, and also cover other Philly basketball stories. I especially love reporting and writing pieces that lift the curtain on the Sixers' people and process (pun sometimes intended), and that help readers feel connected to the teams they follow.

I have covered the NBA since 2017, including as the Phoenix Suns beat writer for the Athletic and the Denver Nuggets beat reporter for the Denver Post. Before that, I spent more than six years as a college football beat reporter for the Oregonian in Portland and the Oklahoman in Oklahoma City. I began my career as a high school reporter/columnist for the Beaumont (Texas) Enterprise.

I'm a Phoenix native and proud graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. If you need to find me, I'm probably at a game, on an airplane, or at the theater.
