The loss of Hahnemann resonates a year later as COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter protests roil Philadelphia

Hahnemann University Hospital lost money for many years before California businessman Joel Freedman bought it in early 2018, but its closure last year strikes a nerve for some because it was such an important source of care for minorities and poor people.
