Penn defenseman Brendan Lavelle saw his first goal of the season come in spectacular fashion against Villanova. He had some help from high school teammate and Quakers goalie Emmet Carroll.

The Quakers finished this season 8-19, with a 4-10 record in the Ivy League. Overall, Donahue compiled a 131-130 record in nine seasons. He was 63-63 in Ivy League play.

Saturday's loss to Princeton meant the Quakers finished the regular season tied for fourth with Brown. The winner of the tiebreaker won't be known until Sunday's NET ratings are published.

Almqvist and the Quakers know it could come down to the slimmest of margins to earn the fourth and final spot in Ivy Madness.

The Penn sophomore was in a groove in a victory at Columbia. He has bounced back nicely from a slump to start the season. “I think it was just a testament to all the work that I put in,” he says.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Yurkow will be inducted into the Rowan-Glassboro State Athletic Hall of Fame on Oct. 19.

With a win and a Brown loss, Penn now controls the fourth-seed in the Ivy by a one-game lead with three matchups remaining.

The Quakers have found recent success, winning their second straight Ivy League crown last season. They’ll kick off their 150th season on Friday.

Penn lost 61-59 to its Ivy League rival Princeton at The Palestra on Feb. 7th, 2025. It was their 12th consecutive loss to Princeton.

The Quakers sank to 2-4 in league play with losses to Brown and Yale at the Palestra.
