Atlantic-10 all-rookie selection Jordan Hall entering transfer portal, leaving St. Joe’s
Jordan Hall emerged as one of St. Joe's best players this season and started 18 of 20 games as a freshman.
St. Joseph’s forward Jordan Hall announced on Twitter that he will be entering the transfer portal after one season on Hawk Hill.
The decision comes as a surprise to most people after Hall was named an all-rookie selection in the Atlantic 10 Conference. He averaged 10.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. He had the fourth triple-double in program history in a 91-82 win against La Salle.
“For personal reasons, I feel that it is in my best interest to leave the Philadelphia area for the remainder of my college career,” Hall said in a tweet. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart to Coach Billy Lange and everyone on Hawk Hill for your endless love and support. I will be entering the transfer portal.”
Hall prepped at Neumann-Goretti, where he won a PCL title in 2020. Lange called Hall one of the 10 best passers he’s ever coached before the season. Hall finished first in the nation among freshmen in assists. Many people thought of Hall as the future of the Hawks’ program.
“We want to thank Jordan for his year competition for The Story of Saint Joseph’s basketball,” said a statement from the St. Joseph’s men’s basketball program. “After many thoughtful conversations discussing his life and future, we are supportive of his decision and wish him great success.”
The transfer portal has changed the landscape of college basketball, and Hall’s decision is the latest in how the portal can take and give. The Hawks received two big men via the portal but have now lost Hall and Myles Douglas.
