Temple’s Delvon Randall doesn’t have to move to begin his professional football career.

On Sunday, Randall announced he would sign as an undrafted free agent with the Eagles.

A safety who appeared in 54 games at Temple, Randall shared the news on Twitter.

“I felt it was my best option,” he said in a phone interview. “I am going in there and working and try to contribute any way I can.”

Randall was a first-team all-American Athletic Conference selection in each of the past two years. He said there is the natural chip on the shoulder by not getting drafted.

“Of course, I will be motivated by that,” he said.

Listed as 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds, Randall was known as a playmaker, recording four interceptions in each of the past three seasons.

He hopes to follow the same route as his former safety partner Sean Chandler, who went undrafted last year but made the New York Giants roster.

Randall’s agent, Alex Graminski, said that several NFL teams contacted him about Randall after the draft.

For Randall, signing with the Eagles was an easy decision.

“I felt it was my best option,” Randall said. “Plus I like playing on that field.”

Both the Eagles and Temple play at Lincoln Financial Field.

Other signees

Running back Rob Ritrovato will sign with the New York Giants.

Ritrovato was Temple’s second leading rusher, but his true value was as a special-teams player. He was among the best at Temple.

Tight end Chris Myarick will sign with the Miami Dolphins.

Offensive lineman Jaelin Robinson will sign with the Atlanta Falcons. Robinson played both tackle and guard as a senior and could play either position in the NFL.

Temple had three players drafted: Cornerback Rock Ya-Sin went in the second round to the Indianapolis Colts; running back Ryquell Armstead was a fifth-round pick by Jacksonville, and defensive tackle Michael Dogbe went in the seventh round to the Cardinals.
