The New Jersey State Police are asking for help identifying a woman with distinctive tattoos whose body was found in a refrigerator the weekend before Christmas in Cape May County.
On Dec. 22, state troopers responded for an undisclosed reason to Belleplain State Forest in Dennis Township shortly before 3 p.m., and based on a preliminary investigation, “the body of a deceased individual” was found inside a refrigerator, the state police said in an email Monday.
In a public statement Sunday, the state police said the unidentified human remains “are believed to belong to a Caucasian or Hispanic female, approximately 5′1″ tall.”
The body has a tattoo of a koi fish on the upper back shoulder area and a rose tattoo wrapping around the left rib area extending from the chest to the hip, the state police said, also making public illustrations of the tattoos.
State troopers also found a yoga mat with a distinctive pattern and a necklace with a star and seven separate dots stamped on a medallion.
