One man was killed and three others were injured in a quadruple shooting Monday night at a bar in Frankford, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 10 p.m. at El Lounge, on the 4600 block of Frankford Avenue, and found three men with multiple gunshot wounds, said Deputy Police Commissioner Frank Vanore.
At least 51 shots were fired, he said, and 40 assault rifle rounds and 11 9mm shell casings were found at the scene. A 9mm handgun was recovered, he said, but the assault rifle was not found.
Police did not identify the victims or release a motive for the crime, which remains under investigation. No arrests have been made.
A 29-year-old man who was shot several times was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:33 p.m., police said.
Another man, 34, was shot once in the leg and twice in the abdomen, police said, and was taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition. And the third victim, 30, was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition but was in stable condition Tuesday morning, Vanore said.
A fourth victim, who was shot in the foot, later walked into Cooper University Hospital in Camden late Monday night, he said.
Police continue to investigate.
“We’re actively trying to figure out what went on here,” Vanore said.
Representatives of El Lounge did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
