Man and woman fatally shot in double homicide in West Philly
The man and woman were both found with multiple gunshot wounds in Mantua on Thursday night, police said.
Two people were killed in an ambush in West Philadelphia on Thursday night, police said, when two shooters opened fire as the victims sat inside a vehicle.
Police found a man and a woman both with multiple gunshot wounds at 700 Union Street, in Mantua, shortly after 10 p.m., police said. The man, identified as Kemo Vaughn, 51, of Upper Darby, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:10 p.m., and the woman, identified as Tahira Wynn, 28, of Tobyhanna, Monroe County, was pronounced dead a minute later, police said.
Two shooters approached Vaughn and Wynn as they sat inside a Cadillac SUV, opening fire into both sides of the vehicle, firing at least 18 shots, said Police Deputy Commissioner Frank Vanore. Shell casings were found at the scene in front of the car and on the passenger and driver’s sides, he said.
Police have not disclosed a possible motive and no weapons have been recovered, nor arrests made.
