Philadelphia police have identified one of the suspects arrested in connection with the robbery and shooting of a pizza deliveryman in Southwest Philadelphia over the weekend.

Baraka Coffee, 19, was arrested shortly after the incident unfolded late Saturday, investigators said. Coffee faces charges of aggravated assault, robbery and other related charges.

Three other teens whom police have not identified were also arrested and face the same charges. Coffee, of the city’s Elmwood section, is not believed to be the shooter, police said.

The other teen suspects in the crime range in age from 15 to 17. Police do not typically publicly identify juveniles accused of crimes unless they are charged as adults.

The shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, when a 37-year-old man drove himself from 68th Street and Paschall Avenue, where he had been shot and robbed, to the 12th Police District several blocks away.

Police said the man, who has not been identified, sustained gunshot wounds to his left thigh and groin. He told officers that four males had shot and robbed him, stealing pizza, wings, and cash.

The man was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition Sunday, investigators said.

At the scene of the alleged robbery, responding officers found a fired .22-caliber cartridge casing. They later saw two males leave a property on the 2200 block of Hobson Street carrying pizza boxes and approached the pair.

One suspect fled, and one was arrested. During a search of the area, police saw the fleeing suspect running from an alleyway and apprehended him as he attempted to hide under a vehicle, police said.

During a search of the fleeing suspect’s path, investigators found a .22-caliber rifle in the driveway of a home on the 6700 block of Woodland Avenue.

Another two suspects were arrested at the home on the 2200 block of Hobson Street from which the first two suspects emerged. Police did not provide details on the circumstances of Coffee’s arrest.
