Temple University student arrested in stabbing of recent Temple grad at off-campus residence
Temple said the suspect and victim live in the same apartment building and are members of a Greek organization whose chapter is not currently recognized by the university “due to previous infractions.

A Temple University student was arrested and expected to be charged with stabbing a recent graduate from the school 13 times early Sunday morning, police and school officials said.
The 23-year-old suspect, whom police did not immediately identify, will be charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and related offenses, police said.
The attack occurred just after 2:30 a.m. Sunday on the third floor of a residence in the 1400 block of North 15th Street. According to police, a 22-year-old male was stabbed 12 times in the back and once in the right ear. He was transported by police to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, police said.
The suspect and victim live in the same apartment building and are members of a Greek organization whose chapter is not currently recognized by the university “due to previous infractions,” said Jennifer Griffin and Jodi Bailey Accavallo, Temple vice presidents for public safety and student affairs, respectively, in a statement issued later Sunday. The school did not name that fraternity.
“While we do not yet know the circumstances leading up to this incident, we do know that the resulting violence is never the answer,” the statement said. “This is a tragic situation with life-altering outcomes for all involved.”
Temple’s Division of Student Affairs will conduct an investigation into the incident, separate from probes by Philadelphia and university police, and anyone involved in the incident will be subject to disciplinary action under the Student Conduct Code, the university said. That will be in addition to any criminal charges.
