Cops looking for missing Utah mom

SALT LAKE CITY - About 30 detectives hunted down leads yesterday in the search for a mother of two who vanished last weekend in what police are calling a suspicious disappearance.

Authorities have questioned the husband of Susan Powell, 28, a stockbroker, and searched an area in the Utah desert where he said he took the couple's two young children, ages 2 and 4, camping last weekend in freezing conditions.

West Valley City Police Capt. Tom McLachlan said yesterday that friends and family still had not heard from the woman as detectives tried to figure out where she could be.
