Tom Brady has thoughts on Nick Foles, and Jalen Hurts goes dancing to highlight Eagles-Commanders broadcast

Also, A.J. Brown wasn't just catching passes, and Nick Sirianni was all wet when this game was said and done.

For the second time in three years, the Eagles are heading to the Super Bowl after a 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders. Whether you were at a roaring Lincoln Financial Field soaking in the NFC championship win, or if you were on Broad Street early to stake out your spot, here’s what went down on the Eagles broadcast.

Brady’s confession

If Nick Foles is in the building, you have to pay him respect. It’s an unwritten rule in Philadelphia. So, with the Eagles on the brink of another trip to the Super Bowl and with Foles in attendance, the conversation naturally turned to the Super Bowl LII MVP.

Bringing up some repressed memories for Tom Brady in the booth, Kevin Burkhardt asked, “Do you know who he played for?”

Brady didn’t hold back, once again stressing that he doesn’t hate the former Eagles quarterback.

“Nick, I don’t hate you. I’m just jealous of you,” Brady said. “You caught it. I didn’t.”

Sure, Tom. Sure.

Not-so-Brotherly Shove

If you were too busy watching the Eagles score a touchdown on the Brotherly Shove, you might have missed the not-so brotherly shoving going on between A.J. Brown and Marshon Lattimore off to the side.

While emotions were close to the surface multiple times throughout the first two quarters, it wasn’t until the third Eagles touchdown that things boiled over, as Brown and Lattimore engaged in a shoving match in which Brown ripped off Lattimore’s helmet. While the flag was called on Washington, the Eagles missed the Tush Push for a two-point conversion.

Naturally, Brown scored the next touchdown for the Birds.

Playing griddy

While Brady tries to convince us he doesn’t hate Foles, it’s clear he has nothing but respect for Jalen Hurts, whom he praised multiple times throughout the game for his lack of turnovers.

“If you’re Philly, you’ve done everything you’ve wanted to going into this game,” Brady said.

Everything they wanted included three rushing touchdowns apiece for Hurts and Saquon Barkley, the only pair of teammates to have three rushing touchdowns each in a playoff game.

With his second touchdown, Hurts tied Steve Young for most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in the postseason. Of course the only fitting celebration was a griddy.

Pregame praises

Hurts wasn’t the only quarterback receiving praises. Burkhardt and Brady had a lot to say about Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels ahead of the matchup between division rivals.

“He’s not playing like a rookie. He’s actually playing at an MVP-type level,” Brady said.

Daniels is the first rookie to win two road playoff games while also passing Russell Wilson for most playoff passing yards by a rookie.

Shoeless Jayden Daniels and the Commanders had two third-down conversions and two fourth-down conversions during their 18-play opening drive.

Celebratory showers

A Gatorade bath before the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter may seem premature, but when you’re up by 32, exceptions can be made.

When you’re leading a team to its second Super Bowl appearance in your fourth year as head coach, it’s only right.

DeVonta Smith and Brown did the honors of dousing their coach, Nick Sirianni, as the Eagles victory was in grasp.

A little off target, but they have the spirit.

Center stage

While according to the broadcast Hurts took off his knee brace before the game, Landon Dickerson, playing center for Cam Jurgens, who was out with a back injury, had a knee brace of his own.

Despite being battered, beaten, and bruised, the Eagles relied on multiple Tush Pushes in the first half, including one that resulted in an Eagles touchdown.

After halftime, Jurgens replaced Dickerson, who did not return.
