Eagles injuries: Cam Jurgens questionable for NFC title game, Dallas Goedert practices, Jalen Hurts likely to wear knee brace

The Eagles will begin championship weekend with uncertainty along the interior offensive line.

On Friday’s official injury report, the team listed center Cam Jurgens as questionable for Sunday’s NFC championship game against the Washington Commanders with a back injury. The 25-year-old was a limited participant in the final practice of the week one day after missing the session altogether, leaving open the possibility for Landon Dickerson to fill in at center with Tyler Steen taking Dickerson’s typical starting left guard position.

The injury report had no designations for Jalen Hurts, Quinyon Mitchell, or Dallas Goedert, with each on track to play at Lincoln Financial Field.

With Jurgens absent for Thursday’s practice, Dickerson took reps at center during individual drills early in practice. Dickerson played seven snaps at center in Week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in place of an injured Jurgens and played primarily at center during his final two seasons at Alabama.

“He’s done it, and he’s solid at it,” Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said Friday. “He obviously did it at a high level in college.”

Dickerson said Thursday: “It’s like riding a bike. You go in, get a few snaps, knock the rust off, and then, hey, you’re usually good to go.”

Hurts said Friday that the left knee injury he suffered last Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams was “progressing,” but noted that he would “anticipate” wearing a brace against Washington. The 26-year-old quarterback was a full participant in Thursday’s and Friday’s practices.

Goedert returned to practice Friday. The tight end was listed as a full participant after missing Thursday’s workout with an ankle injury. Speaking after Friday’s session, Goedert said he suffered the injury on what he considered a hip-drop tackle by Rams linebacker Michael Hoecht after catching a screen pass in the third quarter.

The 30-year-old tight end also said he would be able to play without limitation this Sunday against Washington.

“I feel great today,” Goedert said. “It was a great practice out there. I was moving around really well, so I’m really happy with where I’m at.”

After leaving the Rams game with a shoulder injury, Mitchell will slot back into the starting outside cornerback spot opposite Darius Slay.

The Eagles ruled out wide receiver and return specialist Britain Covey, who is still on injured reserve with a neck injury, and defensive tackle Byron Young.
