On the latest episode of The Inquirer’s Eagles podcast, unCovering the Birds, defensive tackle Jordan Davis joined host Jeff McLane ahead of the Birds’ NFC championship game matchup against the Washington Commanders to discuss his singing talents, the locker room playlists, and his viral dance moves.

Here’s an excerpt from McLane’s “Pick Six” segment with Davis …

Q: You had a nickname as a DJ, right? What was that nickname?

A: DJ Oreo? I said it because the turntables I had at the time, they just looked like two Oreos, you just spin the ones and twos.

Q: When the team needs someone to play music in the locker room, do you take over?

A: Sometimes I get it pregame, but it’s usually just whoever gets the phone on the fly.

Q: What do you play for the team?

A: Depends on the mood. If it’s pregame, we play some rap, but if it’s postgame, play some R&B, chiller stuff, old school.

Q: I always feel like you’re a good vibes guy for the locker room. They put out videos of you dancing — what are your favorite dance moves?

A: I don’t really have a favorite. It’s just what goes with the song, or how I feel, a little two-step. The two-step is probably my favorite, you can do anything with a two-step.

Q: What kind of reaction do you get from the guys when they see you do it?

A: It’s all fun, because at the end of the day, that’s what we’re trying to have, is just fun with this game and how it goes, the season. We’ve just got to find little moments to have fun, and I just like to dance. If there’s good music, I’m going to dance.

Q: You have a great voice, you sang on the Christmas album. Do you sing more than Jordan Mailata?

A: Absolutely not. This dude eats, sleeps, and breathes singing, but I’m OK. I’m decent. I sang when I was little, in choir and stuff like that, but other than that I don’t sing much.

Q: If you could sing any song, even one way outside your range, what would it be?

A: Something by Whitney Houston, she had the craziest range. She’s a pure singer.

Q: Have you tried?

A: Nah, and I’m not going to either. Don’t want to butcher it!
