The Eagles suffered a disastrous 33-16 road loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a wild-card rematch Sunday. The uninspiring performance was enough for the Birds to take quite the tumble in this week’s power rankings ahead of their bye week. Here’s where things stand through four weeks …

The Eagles fell six spots from their No. 5 spot last week — currently behind the Pittsburgh Steelers and the San Francisco 49ers.

What they’re saying: “The Philadelphia Eagles are likely thankful that the team is off in Week 5, because they need to figure something out offensively. With wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith both sidelined Sunday, the Eagles struggled mightily offensively.”

USA Today placed the Eagles at the No. 11 spot, six spots below their previous ranking.

What they’re saying: “A trio of inactive Pro Bowlers isn't going to help the bottom line. Nor will QB Jalen Hurts' now-chronic propensity for turnovers, which are now coming at nearly two per week. Early as it is, Philly's Week 5 bye could be fortuitous.”  — Nate Davis

The injury-riddled Eagles fell to the 12th spot in Sporting News’ weekly power rankings, seven spots below last week’s rankings.

What they’re saying: “The Eagles tried to operate without key wide receivers for Jalen Hurts, but they never really had a chance with the defense regressing and breaking down again for Vic Fangio against Baker Mayfield. They are all over the place with a mix of good and bad under Nick Sirianni.” — Vinnie Iyer

After a shaky performance against Tampa Bay, the Birds fell to the No. 13 spot in NFL.com's power rankings, eight spots below where they were last week.

What they’re saying: “Without Hurts displaying better ball security, a shorthanded Eagles squad isn’t going to win many games. This will be a frustrating bye week, but they’ll have the chance to get healthier and get back on track.” — Eric Edholm

The Eagles moved down to No. 13 in ESPN’s power rankings, six spots lower than where they were in the site’s Week 4 edition.

What they’re saying: “The Eagles signed Bryce Huff … to be an impact three-down player, but he hasn't been reliable against the run, in particular. Barring a significant uptick in play from Huff or 2023 first-round pick Nolan Smith Jr., this unit could be an issue all season.” — Tim McManus

CBS Sports: 16th

The most drastic drop for the Eagles was in CBS Sports' power rankings. The Birds fell nine spots — from seventh to 16th — their lowest ranking, putting them behind the Atlanta Falcons.

What they’re saying: “They have big problems. The injuries are one thing, but Jalen Hurts isn't playing well and the defense is back to being bad. The heat is on Nick Sirianni.” — Pete Prisco
