Could injured Eagles punter Arryn Siposs return in time for the Super Bowl? That is a possibility after the team opened the 21-day practice window for Siposs on Thursday.

The right-footed Siposs was placed on injured reserve after he suffered an ankle injury on his plant leg on Dec. 11.

Despite the timing, the designation does not mean the Birds have activated Siposs or that he’s a lock to appear when the Eagles play the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII.

Siposs, 30, missed the final four games of the regular season. He told reporters in January that he was hopeful to return for the playoffs, even hinting at a possible return ahead of the NFC divisional game against the Giants.

Before his injury, Siposs averaged 45.6 yards with a 39.6 net, but both averages were near the bottom of the league at 25th and 29th, respectively. In his absence, the Eagles signed 38-year-old free agent Brett Kern, who most notably spent 13 seasons in Tennessee with the Titans before his arrival in Philadelphia. Kern averaged 40.8 yards per punt with a net of 36.6 in the regular season.
