10. Barrett Brooks
Brooks played offensive line for the first four years of his career in Philadelphia (1995-98), and played his final two seasons in Pittsburgh (2004-05), winning Super Bowl XL. More recently, Brooks has appeared as an analyst on NBC Sports Philadelphia and calls college football games for ESPN.
9. Walter Abercrombie
Abercrombie played six seasons in Pittsburgh (1982-87), including two seasons with more than 1,000 yards from scrimmage. The running back played his final NFL season in Philadelphia in 1988.
8. Javon Hargrave
Hargrave started his career as a nose tackle in Pittsburgh from 2016-19 before coming over to the Eagles in 2020. Hargrave made the Pro Bowl in 2021 and had 23 career sacks with the Eagles, including a career-high 11 in 2022.
7. LeGarrette Blount
Blount didn’t play very long for the Birds or the Steelers, spending just half a season with Pittsburgh (2014) and one with the Eagles (2017). But Blount is best known for his 21-yard touchdown run in Super Bowl LII, and was a critical piece of the two-headed monster the Eagles built at running back with him and Jay Ajayi.
6. Gary Ballman
Ballman is one of the best kick returners in Steelers history. He is second in franchise history in average yards per kickoff return, with 26.7, and made two Pro Bowls. After playing five seasons with the Steelers from 1962-66, he then played six seasons with the Eagles from 1967-72.
5. Duce Staley
Staley played seven seasons with the Eagles from 1997-2003, and finished his career with two in Pittsburgh. Staley, until 2024, had the most scrimmage yards of any Eagles player in a single game, with 262 in the Pickle Juice game against the Cowboys in 2000. Saquon Barkley broke that record with a 302-yard game against the Rams this season.
4. Gary Anderson
Anderson kicked for the Steelers from 1982-94, making three Pro Bowls, before spending the following two seasons with the Eagles. He is tied with eight others for the NFL record for field-goal percentage in a season, hitting 100% of his kicks in 1998. Anderson also holds the Steelers’ franchise record for points scored (1,343).
3. Michael Vick
Vick played his final season in Pittsburgh in 2015 and five seasons with the Eagles from 2009-2013, with four as the starting quarterback. Vick played the best season of his career in Philadelphia in 2010, throwing for 3,018 yards and 21 touchdowns with six interceptions, and rushing for 676 yards and nine touchdowns. Vick became the first quarterback in NFL history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a single season in 2006 when he played for the Falcons.
2. Ray Mansfield
Mansfield played his first NFL season with the Eagles in 1963, and then played the remaining 13 seasons of his NFL career with the Steelers. He started his career as a defensive tackle, but was moved to center and started there for the Steelers for two Super Bowl wins, and earned All-Pro honors twice at the position. Mansfield was inducted into the Steelers Hall of Honor in 2023.
1. Levon Kirkland
Kirkland played his final NFL season with the Eagles in 2002, but the best part of his career came in Pittsburgh, where the linebacker was a two-time All-Pro, and was named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. Kirkland was massive for a modern-day linebacker, but was a key piece of the elite Blitzburgh defense in the 1990s. He logged 19.5 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, and 11 interceptions in his 11-year NFL career, which included nine seasons in Pittsburgh and one in Philadelphia.
