EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas will miss the rest of the season after having foot surgery on Wednesday, a person with knowledge of the injury told the Associated Press.

The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because the team had not disclosed the surgery. Thomas was hurt late in a 17-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last weekend.

Coach Brian Daboll was scheduled to address the media later Wednesday before the Giants (2-4) start practicing for their home game against the Eagles (3-2) on Sunday.

The person said Thomas had surgery to repair a Lisfranc injury. NFL Network was the first to report the surgery.

It is not clear how the Giants will replace Thomas, who signed a five-year, $117.5 million contract in 2023.

The most likely option would be to move Jermaine Eluemunor from right tackle to the left side and then use Evan Neal or Joshua Ezeudu on the right side. Neal had been the starting right tackle since being drafted with the seventh overall pick in 2022. He has struggled on the field and missed the later part of last season and the start of training camp because of ankle surgery.
