No Commanders fans in sight at the Hard Rock Cafe after a ‘take over’ before the NFC championship loss to the Eagles

“Oh no the Philly Hard Rock has fallen. Maybe next they will take over Applebees,” one Eagles fan mockingly wrote.

Commanders fans took over the Market Street Hard Rock Cafe before the NFC championship game Saturday night. But it was awfully quiet on Sunday night.

“We took over this place,” a Commanders fan known as Tailgate Ted proudly told fellow fans in a video shared on social media on Saturday. “The entire restaurant, we took this place over.”

He was quickly mocked by Philadelphians.

“Oh no the Philly Hard Rock has fallen. Maybe next they will take over Applebees,” one Eagles fan mockingly wrote.

Even Phillies second baseman Bryson Stott got in on the action.

(Tailgate Ted, by the way, was not disheartened. “If I was 20 years younger I probably would have commented back,” Ted said. “But at this point you need to move on. My mute list on X is longer than a CVS receipt at this point.”)

On Sunday night, Eagles fans celebrated outside Hard Rock where Commanders once claimed as their own. One man sitting on top of a truck stopped to pour champagne into a bystander’s mouth.

Another group started doing shots outside of the Hard Rock, while taking a selfie.

Most Eagles fans were confused as to why the Hard Rock was chosen in the first place.

Ryan Patel and Christian Matt, two fans who were standing outside the restaurant Sunday night, couldn’t understand it.

”They can take a terrible bar but they can go back to Washington, losing by a million,” said Matt. “I am fine with that any day of the week.

”It was worst place they could have possibly chosen,” said Patel. “You could have taken Xfinity Live. You could’ve taken anything. You chose the Hard Rock? Ok bro.”
