Saquon Barkley gifts offensive linemen entire truckloads of Bud Light
NFL quarterbacks one-up each other every year with exceedingly elaborate offensive line gifts. Now, Saquon Barkley is entering the fray, gifting Lane Johnson and Cam Jurgens full trucks of Bud Light after the Super Bowl LIX win.
The party has not stopped since the clock hit zero at the Superdome. Barkley and the offensive line shotgunned beer with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Tuesday, after Barkley insisted the group be included on the show. Jalen Hurts respectfully declined, and elected instead to spray his beer on Landon Dickerson.
Bud Light will also offer custom “Bird Light” pint glasses at select stops to be announced on the parade route, and distribute custom bottles of Bud Light themed for the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX win in honor of the big win to fans at the parade.

Kicker Jake Elliott brushes off notion he was injured during season
Despite a report from his former Eagles teammate, Beau Allen, suggesting otherwise, Jake Elliott brushed off the notion that he was playing through injury this season.
“Everyone is dealing with soreness,” Elliott said on Thursday. “I know Beau put that out there. But everyone’s dealing with soreness throughout the year, little things, and I was able to play through Sunday.”
Elliott added: “I’m fine. I’m not injured. I’m good to go. If I need to play Sunday this week, I’d play Sunday this week.”

'I love Nick': Kellen Moore talks Sirianni in Saints introduction
During Kellen Moore's introductory press conference in New Orleans, the former Eagles offensive coordinator was asked about leaving the Eagles and Nick Sirianni.
"First and foremost I love Nick," Moore said. "Forever thankful for the opportunity to team up with him through this past year. Tremendous leader, tremendous head coach in the National Football League, and he won a world championship for a reason. I feel so thankful for that.
"An opportunity to be a head coach is really special in this league. … Obviously Nick and I had plenty of conversations as we went through this journey. He was very supportive of it. Certainly he would’ve loved for us to team up again, but he understood that this was a very special place for us."

All but one Philly Councilmember — a Chiefs fan — votes to honor Eagles
In case there was any question, Philadelphia’s lawmakers are, indeed, Philadelphia Eagles fans.
City Council members passed three pieces of legislation on Thursday honoring the Birds for their Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs, adopting three honorary resolutions celebrating the team. The legislation passed unanimously — the only member who was did not vote was Councilmember Jim Harrity, who was absent Thursday and happens to be Council’s only Chiefs fan.
One resolution cheered the team for its “triumphant victory,” one congratulated quarterback Jalen Hurts for being named MVP, and a third honored Eagles associate performance coach Autumn Lockwood for becoming the first Black female coach to win a Super Bowl.

The Jets officially moving on from Aaron Rodgers
It’s official — the Jets are moving on from Aaron Rodgers.
Rodgers, the former Green Bay Packers quarterback who signed with the Jets in 2023, was informed of the team’s decision last week, head coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Mougey said in a joint statement.
"It was important to have this discussion now to provide clarity and enable each of us the proper time to plan for our respective futures,” the statement said. “We want to thank him for the leadership, passion, and dedication he brought to the organization and wish him success moving forward."

CeeDee Lamb admits Eagles fans are more passionate than Cowboys fans
CeeDee Lamb isn’t going to make Cowboys fans happy with a clip from this past weekend that’s getting around.
Asked during Super Bowl weekend by an influencer who had the more passionate fan base, the Eagles or Cowboys, the star Cowboys receiver said the fans of his NFC East rival bring it a little more than fans in Dallas.
“Eagles, they’re crazy,” Lamb said. “Our fans are deep, but they’re not … I don’t want to say nothing crazy. But the Eagles got it.”

Eagles CB Isaiah Rodgers gets a Super Bowl tattoo
Eagles cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, who had a big fourth-quarter fumble recovery and return in the team’s snowy divisional-round win over the Los Angeles Rams, has officially become the first member of the team to get a Super Bowl tattoo — and it’s a big one.
Rodgers spent the first three seasons of his career with the Colts, and signed with the Birds in 2023, but this was his first season actually playing for the Eagles after sitting out the 2023 season due to a gambling suspension. Rodgers returned in 2024 and appeared in 12 games for the Eagles (starting two).

Who will wear Chris Long's fur coat to the Eagles' parade?
At the Super Bowl victory parade in 2018, defensive end Chris Long wore a giant fur coat over an Allen Iverson Sixers jersey, with a WWE champions belt. According to Long, the coat might be making a comeback — one current Eagle sent him a message asking to wear it on Friday for the parade.
Long didn’t reveal who asked in case the player chooses not to wear it, but I’m going to make a few guesses at it. Long confirmed it’s NOT one of the so-called “exciting whites,” Cooper DeJean or Reed Blankenship, and that it’s not a white player at all, which rules out Lane Johnson, who would have been my first guess.
“I will tell you, it’s a guy that I really love,” Long said.
Jordan Mailata never played with Long, but he’s close friends with Johnson, who did, and he could definitely rock a fur coat.
Brandon Graham is a longtime Eagle who played with Long in the 2018 Super Bowl, and everyone loves BG.
Josh Sweat. Just feels like it has to be a vet with the memory of the jacket. Sweat was drafted by the Eagles in 2018, just after the Super Bowl win.

The best photos of the Super Bowl, picked by our photographers
The Inquirer’s team of photographers and videographers are often the unsung heroes of the newsroom, braving adverse conditions and bad wifi to offer a unique glimpse of the Delaware Valley.
On Sunday, much of the Inquirer’s team were stationed in New Orleans to capture the Eagles’ historic win over the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Here are their favorite photos:
For the Super Bowl, I worked from the 100 level of the Superdome, above the corner of the Chiefs end zone. I chose this spot strategically, anticipating reactions on the Eagles bench and a nearly straight shot of the podium post-game.
Q&A with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie
Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie walked around the locker room Sunday after Super Bowl LIX, hugging players and staffers.
He’d once been ridiculed for suggesting that his franchise could be the gold standard in the NFL. Who could deny him that claim now?
The 73-year-old is at least the best sports owner in Philadelphia history.
'Imma get one': The Eagles mic'd up in the Super Bowl is must-watch TV
“It’s coming. Imma get one,” Eagles All-Pro Zack Baun said on the sideline, predicting his interception of Patrick Mahomes during the Birds’ Super Bowl victory.
Baun and several other Eagles players were mic’d up during the game, which the NFL released in a must-watch video, NFL Mic’d Up: Super Bowl LIX, that aired last night on the NFL Network
In just one of many moments captured by NFL Films, running back Saquon Barkley prods normally stoic Jalen Hurts, asking if he'll actually smile with the Eagles up big in the game.
Eagles parade weather forecast: It will feel like 2018
If you happened to attend the 2018 Super Bowl Parade and assorted festivities, the weather may have a familiar feeling.
Temperatures will be around freezing when the parade is due to start and creep toward the mid-30s in the afternoon. But a stiff wind blowing from the northwest — from the Philadelphia Museum of Art toward City Hall, and thus in the face of the parade participants -- will drive wind chills into the 20s.
For those who plan to go early, be advised that wind chills are forecast to be in the teens until mid-morning.
