Nick Foles announced Thursday morning that he will officially retire as an Eagle after 11 NFL seasons next month. The quarterback spent five seasons in Philly, winning Super Bowl LII MVP honors and leaving Birds fans with a collection of lifelong memories in the process. In honor of No. 9, here are his top nine moments ...

Foles' first win as a starter

Foles lost his first three career games as a starter, but his first win was worth the wait. In 2012, he completed an 11-point comeback against the Buccaneers on a game-winning touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin as time expired.

One game. Seven touchdowns.

Eight quarterbacks have thrown seven touchdowns in an NFL game, and one of them is Nick Foles, who caught fire in a 49-20 win against the Raiders in 2013. He had tossed all seven TDs before the end of the third quarter.

A little Snow Bowl magic

Foles was under center for the Snow Bowl in 2013, when the Eagles played the Lions amidst a blizzard at Lincoln Financial Field. He left the heavy lifting to LeSean McCoy (217 yards, two TDs), but did score twice himself in the 34-20 win.

The Eagles bullied the Vikings, 38-7, in the 2017 NFC championship game. Foles tossed three touchdowns at the Linc and was rewarded by Eagles fans, who clapped their hands and yelled “Foles! Foles!” to mock Minnesota’s “Skol!” chant.

The night of the Eagles’ 2017 NFC Championship win, Foles took a walk through Center City alongside packs of celebrating Birds fans. None of them noticed Foles, who just needed a beanie and a hoodie to blend in.

The Eagles faced a fourth-down decision on the goal line during Super Bowl LII against the Patriots. At that moment, an eight-word exchange between Foles and Doug Pederson set a plan in motion and a memory that'll last in Eagles lore.

“You want Philly Philly?” Foles asked Pederson. “Yeah, let’s do it,” Pederson said.

The Eagles broke the huddle and Foles feigned a pre-snap adjustment, moving over behind Lane Johnson to “yell” at him. The ball eventually ended up in the hands of tight end Trey Burton, who found Foles on an end-around all alone on the right side of the end zone.

Philly's only Super Bowl MVP

Foles won Super Bowl LII MVP after throwing for 373 yards and three touchdowns (plus catching a fourth) in the Eagles’ 41-33 win over the Patriots. He remains the only player in franchise history to win the award.

Foles wasn’t just a fan favorite — his teammates loved him, too. That was evident in 2018 when Chris Long used a shelf in his locker to enshrine the Eagles’ QB with a display that included pictures, books, and candles.

Breaking the Eagles' single-game passing record

A 471-yard performance against the Houston Texans landed Foles the franchise’s single-game passing record in 2018. He surpassed Donovan McNabb’s previous mark in the midst of a game-winning drive that kept the Eagles’ season alive.
