For Swifties — Taylor Swift’s devoted fans — Friday evening marked the start of a weekend they’ll never forget: Night one of Swift’s Eras Tour stopping in Philadelphia.
The three-consecutive sold out shows are a feat no other artist has pulled off locally. The closest is Bruce Springsteen, but The Boss’ performances weren’t all in a row like Swift’s.

Welcome to Swiftadelphia
Since kicking off in March, Swift’s Eras tour has become a cultural phenomenon — a musical feat with Swift performing a three-hour and 40+ song setlist spanning her decades-long career. Elaborate costumes and “surprise songs,” which keep fans guessing what deep cuts they’ll hear exclusively at their respective show dates, are all part of the spectacle.
Off stage, fans’ own outfits — inspired by specific eras or significant moments in Swift’s career — have turned stadium concourse areas into their own fashion shows.
Hours before gates opened, fans clamored near Lincoln Financial Field grounds to exchange friendship bracelets, “Tayl-gate,” and to sing along with other fans. There was enough tinsel, sequins, and glitter to light up the Miracle on 13th Street early with fans dressing in their Taylor Best.
Here are some of our favorite looks — and people — we met on the first night of Swift’s tour this weekend.

What’s your significant Taylor Swift memory?
I’ve been trying to learn her songs on guitar. In high school, I played “Red” for an open mic night around 2010. I’ve been trying to see Taylor since her ‘1989’ tour — my favorite era and the one I’m dressed as — but scheduling didn’t work out. I had to heal that.

What inspired your outfits?
We wanted to do something that could work together. So we thought of the lyrics from “Midnight Rain.” This is our interpretation of sunshine and rain. We’ve both been listening to Taylor since we were around 4 years old.

What’s your earliest Taylor memory?
When she first released her debut, I was obsessed with “Our Song.” I brought it in for choir class and I thought I was so cool with the new Taylor Swift CD.

What was the process like for pulling this outfit together?
We’ve been best friends for 10 years and Taylor Swift is a common thing we share. Our outfits were inspired by “The Great War” and soldier vibes, plus Taylor wore a lot of camo during her Reputation era. It took about 20 hours in total.
