Son of a nutcracker! Buddy the Elf is back!

Will Ferrell was in rare form on Sunday as he was spotted at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles while attending the Flyers-Kings game dressed in full Buddy the Elf attire. Only this iteration of Buddy didn’t seem like the same wholesome, happy-go-lucky elf that fans have grown to love.

It looked like the actor had a tough holiday season — sporting a five o’clock shadow, holding a cigarette in his mouth with a drink in his hand that may or may not have had alcohol in it.

The Elf star is a fan of the Kings and regularly attends games — but never in this attire. However, the actor isn’t a stranger to embracing his movie roles in public. In fact, Ferrell has dressed up as Ron Burgundy from Anchorman on multiple occasions, including on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon.

But Buddy may have brought the Kings some Christmas magic to the Crypto.com Arena. The Kings won, 5-4, posting their seventh straight home victory after they rallied from a 4-2 deficit. Maybe Buddy won’t be an angry elf anymore.
