St. Luke’s University Health Network to acquire Grand View Health, expand reach in Philadelphia area
The deal is expected to close in mid-to-late 2025, pending regulatory approval.
St. Luke’s University Health Network is set to acquire Grand View Health in Bucks County, a move that will extend the Lehigh Valley-based health system’s reach deeper into the Philadelphia suburbs.
St. Luke’s, a nonprofit health system with 15 campuses across 11 counties in northeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and Grand View, a community health system in Sellersville, said Friday that they had signed a definitive agreement to partner. The deal is expected to close in mid-to-late 2025, pending regulatory approval. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“This is a strategic decision to assure Grand View’s future for the benefit of our community and our patients,” Doug Hughes, Grand View’s president and CEO, said in a statement.

Grand View would be St. Luke’s 12th full-service hospital. The health system also operates St. Luke’s Upper Bucks in Milford, which opened in 2019 as a replacement for an older facility and was expanded last year.
Grand View, which now has 194 beds, opened in 1913 as Bucks County’s first hospital. In each of the last three fiscal years, Grand View has lost more than $40 million.
“Grand View, as does St. Luke’s, enjoys a long and proud history of providing high-quality and compassionate care to its communities, which is why the two organizations will be excellent partners,” Rick Anderson, president and CEO of St. Luke’s, said in a statement.
