Isaiah Wong scores 50 points in Play-by-Play Classic All-Star game
The Miami recruit and Bonner-Prendergast star led his team to an overtime victory.

After Isaiah Wong hit a three-pointer in the waning moments of the Play-by-Play Classic, one of the referees asked a few fans the question everyone was wondering.
“Does he have 50 yet?”
The next time down, the Miami recruit and Bonner-Prendergast star drained a game-tying three-pointer, for his 50th point, and went on to lead Team Local past Team USA in a 165-153 overtime win Monday at Souderton.
The all-star game featured more than 20 Division I recruits, and the majority of the best players in the area. It’s the first of three events at Souderton this week, with an open practice and dunk contest on Wednesday and Friday’s Iverson Roundball Classic, both of which will feature several of the best players in the country.
Wong’s 50 included five three-pointers, all in the second half and overtime. He outlasted Temple recruit and Roselle Catholic junior Josh Pierre-Louis, who netted 39 points, including a handful of highlight dunks and passes.
After an up-and-down game for the majority of the first three quarters, Wong said his coaches told him to dominate the game late.
“The coaches told me to take over and I felt like I did,” Wong said. “... We had an hour to warm up. I feel like those types of games, I get my shot ready. It was just all going in from there, especially the first bucket I got. I kept on trying to shoot.”
Roman Catholic junior and Maryland recruit Hakim Hart was second on Team Local with 22 points, and Malvern Prep’s Deuce Turner scored 26, but the biggest moments in the game came down to the competition between Wong and Pierre-Louis.
“It’s always a good battle,” said Pierre-Louis, who was playing his first game in the Philadelphia area. “We both get the best out of each other.”
