CAMDEN A 57-year-old man was fatally injured early Saturday morning in an attempted robbery in Camden.

CAMDEN A 57-year-old man was fatally injured early Saturday morning in an attempted robbery in Camden.

Timothy Appling, of Camden, was injured at 2:48 a.m. in a robbery near the intersection of South Broadway and Atlantic Avenue, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said in a news release.

He was pronounced dead at 8:55 at Cooper University Hospital. An autopsy will be conducted Sunday, the prosecutor's office said.

Appling is the city's 52d homicide victim this year.
