Boy, 15, killed in South Philly shooting

A 34-year-old man was killed in a separate shooting a short time later in the Cedarbrook section.

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head and killed Monday night in South Philadelphia, police said.

Just after 7:10 p.m., the teen was outside in the 1500 block of South Beulah Street, near Seventh and Dickinson Streets, when he was shot once. He was taken by responding police officers to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and pronounced dead at 8:12 p.m.

Police reported no arrests.

A short time later, a 34-year old man was shot and fatally wounded in the city’s Cedarbook section, police said.

They said the victim suffered a graze wound to the face and was shot once in the chest on the 2500 block of Cheltenham Avenue.

Police took the man to Albert Einstein Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead at 7:50 p.m., police said.

No arrests have been reported.
