Doughnut shop manager killed during a robbery was not supposed to be working alone, colleague says

A worker scheduled to work the overnight had called out, which meant Lugo had to open the store alone, an assistant manager said.

A memorial grew Sunday outside the Dunkin' Donuts at Lehigh Avenue and Fairhill Street in North Philadelphia where manager Christine Lugo was shot to death early Saturday morning during a robbery after she opened up. Paying her respects was a manager from another Dunkin Donuts who only wanted to be identified as Tatyanna.
