Fatal fire reported in the city’s Ogontz section Saturday night

A 71-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene of an apartment building fire Saturday night, police said.

The four-floor residential building on the 1700-block of West Godfrey Avenue had been fully engulfed as city firefighters responded to the blaze at about 10:30 p.m.

The fire was brought under control at about 11 p.m.

The fire was ruled accidental. No firefighters or police were injured. Medics evaluated the other residents.
