On Tuesday, a federal judge declared a mistrial in the federal bribery trial of Philadelphia City Councilmember Kenyatta Johnson and his wife, Dawn Chavous.
Prosecutors claim that Johnson accepted bribes to aid the financially struggling nonprofit founded by legendary music producer Kenny Gamble. A spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office said prosecutors are committed to retrying the case.
