2 men killed in North Philly shooting
The victims were shot just before 6 p.m. in the 4700 block of North Third Street.
Two 19-year-old men were fatally wounded in a street shooting Tuesday evening in the Franklinville section of North Philadelphia, police said.
Both men were each shot one time in the chest just before 6 p.m. while on the 4700 block of North Third Street.
One victim was found at the scene by police and transported to Temple University Hospital, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.
The second victim was picked up in a private automobile and was being transported when the driver found a police vehicle at Fifth Street and Wyoming Avenue, Small said. Police then took that victim to Temple.
Both men were pronounced dead a short time later. Their names were not released.
Witnesses said that the men may have been involved in an altercation at the shooting scene around 4 or 4:30 p.m., Small said.
Police were checking nearby surveillance cameras for possible video evidence. Four spent shell casings and a large amount of blood were found at the scene, Small said.
