Fire sweeps through Maple Shade condominium complex

The fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. in the 12-unit Valley Glen condos.

Officials Thursday were investigating what caused a fire that extensively damaged a condominium complex in Maple Shade.

The fire broke out around 3:45 a.m. in the 12-unit Valley Glen condos.

It took firefighters from several communities about two hours to get the upper hand on the blaze, authorities said. They remained on the scene dousing several hot spots.

Residents were able to safely evacuate the complex, however one person was treated for smoke inhalation.

The Red Cross was helping to relocate displaced residents.
