Girl, 13, hit by stray bullet from shooting between two cars in North Philly
The girl, who was shot in the back, was hospitalized in stable condition at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.
A 13-year-old-girl was hospitalized Wednesday evening after being struck by a stray bullet from a shooting between two cars in North Philadelphia , police said.
Around 5:30 p.m., the girl arrived by private vehicle to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where she was listed in stable condition with a gunshot wound to her back.
Her father, who brought her to the hospital, said he was driving with his daughter near Whitaker Avenue and Luzerne Street — a half block from the headquarters of both the 24th and 25th Police Districts — when he saw in front of him a male in a car shooting at another car. Both vehicles involved in the gunfire continued north on Whitaker.
The father said he then noticed his daughter had been shot and drove her to the hospital.
No arrests were reported.
