2 hurt in crash involving SEPTA bus in King of Prussia
The bus driver and driver of an automobile were transported to a hospital after the crash, police said.
A crash involving two automobiles — with one of the vehicles spinning into a SEPTA bus — left two people injured Wednesday afternoon in King of Prussia, police said.
The crash occurred just after 1:50 p.m. at the intersection of South Henderson Road and Monroe Boulevard.
Upper Merion Township police said an SUV was heading south on Henderson and made a left turn onto Monroe in front of another vehicle traveling north on Henderson.
The two vehicles collided and the SUV spun and struck the front of the SEPTA bus, which was stopped at the time of the crash, police said.
The bus driver and the SUV driver were transported to Paoli Hospital, police said. No other injuries were reported.
The injury to the driver of the Route 99 bus was not life-threatening, said SEPTA spokesperson Andrew Busch.
The condition of the SUV driver was not immediately available.
A helicopter video from 6abc showed the bus stopped in the right-turn lane at the corner of Henderson and Monroe, with the front of a light-colored SUV in contact or close to the front driver’s-side corner of the bus.
The passenger side of the SUV — facing away from the bus — had significant damage and a second vehicle, a dark-colored sedan, was nearby and had front-end damage.
The Route 99 bus travels between the Norristown Transportation Center and Phoenixville.
