High-income Philadelphians getting tested for coronavirus at far higher rates than low-income residents

A Drexel epidemiologist found that the 19102 zip code in Center City had the highest rate of tested residents — 16 per 1,000. Testing rates in North Philadelphia’s 19120 zip code were the city’s lowest, at 2.7 per 1,000.

Usama Bilal, epidemiologist at Drexel University's Dornsife School of Public Health, discovered that nearly six times as many Philadelphians in neighborhoods with higher median household incomes have been tested for coronavirus than have residents of low-income areas.
