Advocates for the homeless created an encampment outside the Holiday Inn at 1305 Walnut St. on Dec. 10, 2020. Residents at the Holiday Inn, the city’s “Quarantine Hotel” and COVID-19 prevention hotel, received an eviction notices from the City of Philadelphia Office of Homeless Services. It declares an eviction date of December 15th for all residents. The group gathered to protest and prevent the eviction.

One of the organizers Veronica Carden of Club Sandwich Philly, stands in Walnut Street as police remove the protesters sleeping bags. The bags were put in the street after police forced them to take their sidewalk tents down.
