This is Biden's fifth trip to the Philadelphia area this year, and he made a joint appearance with Vice President Kamala Harris.
President Joe Biden traveled to Philadelphia Wednesday to speak at a campaign rally at Girard College, the historic boarding school in Fairmount.
Vice President Kamala Harris joined him, as did Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle L. Parker and Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Austin Davis.
It's Biden's fifth trip to the Philly region this year, and his seventh visit to Pennsylvania, one of five key battleground states in the 2024 presidential election.
Biden has agreed to debate his 2024 opponent, former President Donald Trump, on CNN June 27.

She called it a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a “girl in concrete” to speak before the president and challenged Biden to see that infrastructure dollars result in jobs and contracts for Black Americans.

Abandon Biden was formed by Muslim activists who want Biden to lose the election as punishment for supporting Israel in its war against Hamas, which has resulted in the deaths of thousands of civilians in Gaza.

Hadia Muhammad and Iliyaas Muhammad, of Drexel Hill, own Really Reel Ginger at Reading Terminal Market and were invited to attend the rally by the African American Chamber of Commerce.
Iliyaas Muhammad, 43, said he hopes Biden speaks about health disparities for Black and brown people.

Biden supporters and students entered a gymnasium at Girard College on Wednesday afternoon after navigating check-in lines outside.
Stickers were spread out on a table by the entrance that matched signs lining the doors: “Our voice our vote,” with a black fist raised, “First but not the last,” and “Historically Black.” Biden-Harris signs also hung on the door.

What to know about Girard College
Girard College serves about 300 students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in first through 12th grades. It was founded by French immigrant and merchant Stephen Girard as a school for poor, white orphans when it opened in 1848.
The private school was integrated in 1968 after round-the-clock protests, a Philadelphia speech by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and years of court fights to open the gates to children of color. Girls were admitted beginning in 1984.
