NJ Transit bus hits a child in Center City

The child was taken to a hospital, where they were listed in stable condition, after the crash at Sixth and Market Streets.

A New Jersey Transit bus hit a child at Sixth and Market Streets on Monday morning, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. The child, who was not identified, was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.

The crash occurred at about 9:09 a.m., according to NJ Transit. The 317 line bus had just departed its origin at Sixth and Race Streets on its way to Asbury Park, N.J., when it hit the child at the intersection of Sixth and Market.

There were no passengers onboard the bus, and the bus driver was not injured. Philadelphia police are investigating the incident.
