Ah, the Monday morning newspaper’s front page. A lovely thing to look at — when you’re a winner.

Today, and for the foreseeable future, the mood in Philadelphia is celebratory as the Eagles head to New Orleans for the Super Bowl LIX. The streets are lined with green. And paging through today’s Philadelphia Inquirer, the Birds’ 55-23 win over the Washington Commanders is unavoidable news.

But about 150 miles southwest, just a two-hour train ride away, vibes are bleaker. In every game, someone has to lose, and in this case it absolutely wasn’t us.

In turn, the Washington Post’s front page is not celebratory. But it’s looking to greener — oops, too soon? — pastures, commemorating their first championship game in 33 years and the bar the team has raised. Like we said, someone had to lose.

Here’s a look at the respective and vastly different newspaper front pages.

And here’s the Daily News front page too, for good measure.
