The Israel-Hamas war was the focus of two protests in Philadelphia over the weekend — a pro-Palestinian march on Saturday that began at City Hall and proceeded to the Ben Franklin Bridge, where activists stopped traffic for about 40 minutes, and a pro-Israel rally on Sunday in Rittenhouse Square, where participants called for the release of hostages taken when Hamas attacked Israel on Oct. 7.
