West Philly home collapses at 63rd and Vine Streets
No injuries were reported
A West Philadelphia rowhouse collapsed Friday morning.
The incident happened at 63rd and Vine Streets, Philadelphia police confirmed.
No one was inside the building, which the fire department said was under renovation. There were no injuries.
A city permit issued in December for 324 N. 63rd St. shows the owner sought to install a three-story addition in the building’s rear, which would fit seven units.
The home was sold in August. It was constructed in 1925, according to property records.
Philadelphia Gas Works was called to shut off the building’s utility service, but a spokesperson said the company is not involved with the collapse.
