These swimsuits will give life to your Jersey Shore look | Elizabeth Wellington

Are you still sporting the same tankini you wore to the beach in the ’90s? Time for a swimsuit update. Our guide to the best looks this summer.

This Karla Colletto one-piece ($331 at Knit Wit) is proof that denim — a girl’s most reliable textile — is absolutely suitable for the waves. Lots of them. Drop earrings by Lotasi Jewels (price upon request).

You need a new bathing suit for summer ’19. Trust me.

Because that tankini you’ve been holding on to for nearly a decade just doesn’t do it anymore. How can you claim fashion modernity when that faded polka-dot two-piece is so early 2000s? Really, girlfriend, it’s got to go.

The good news is multiple styles of swimsuits are totally in fashion this summer ― everything from one-piece monotone suits with sexy laser cuts to forgiving bikinis with tops that push the girls up and bottoms that pull you in where you need it the most.

So, relax. Authenticity on the sand this year is yours for the taking. With our guide, there is no way you won’t be able to find something new that feels as if it’s made just for you.

Classy Traveler

This burgundy Static Swimwear suit ($139 at Kin Boutique) is a jet-setting girl’s laser-cut dream. A sassy turban (vintage) and Le Specs rose gold cat-eye frames ($119 at Kin Boutique) add style points. But it’s the diamond-infused pendant from the Philadelphia-based bauble maker Carla Eichler of Lotasi Jewels that pulls everything together (price upon request).

Tropical Touch

Leopard prints give all bathing suits a touch of jungle love. We adore this full-bottomed two-piece by the forgiving swimwear brand Sidway Swim ($90 top, $108 bottom at Kin Boutique).

Seeing Green

We love the fresh look of green bikinis, especially this Robin Piccone two-piece ($110 top, $78 bottom at Everything But Water). The silky kimono cover-up was designed by Eichler for Lotasi Jewels ($495). An Echo Design wide-brimmed hat ($99 at Bloomingdale’s), Botkier slides ($98 at Kin Boutique), and an embroidered beach bag ($195 at Lotasi Jewels) complete the look.

Into the Future

A slate-gray swimsuit like this one from Bleu Rod Beattie ($129 at Everything But Water) is as cooly futuristic as it gets. We jazzed it up with a clear, hooded Rains coat ($155 at Knit Wit) and drop earrings from Lotasi Jewels (price upon request).

The Glow-Up

The red one-piece is always a winner. This Karla Coletto ($396 at Knit Wit) offers it all: ruching for camouflage, gold buttons for the glow-up, and a deep V for sunning the décolletage.

Print Perfection

Floral prints + zebra stripes = mixed-print perfection as in this Becca by Rebecca Virtue suit ($58 top, $68 bottom at Bloomingdale’s), killer navy-blue bujibaja straw bag ($96 at Knit Wit), Boho Wrapsody wrap ($75 at bohowrapsody.com), Kate Spade sunglasses ($160 at Bloomingdale’s), and drop earrings and necklace by Lotasi Jewels (price upon request).

Ace of Lace

Whether you’re unabashedly splashing or enjoying a cocktail at the swim-up bar, this one-piece Becca by Rebecca Virtue ($118 at Bloomingdale’s) will surely turn heads. Turquoise earrings and necklace from Lotasi Jewels (price upon request) complete the look.

Rockin’ Denim

This Karla Colletto one-piece ($331 at Knit Wit) is proof that denim — a girl’s most reliable textile — is absolutely suitable for the waves. Lots of them. Drop earrings by Lotasi Jewels (price upon request).

Seashells by the Seashore

This Egg New York pink shell bikini ($46 at Egg + Friends) is the kind of bathing suit that makes a little girl feel as if she can run her own world of sandcastles and unicorns. Nine-year-old Karleigh Bortz also models a Little Miss Zoe mermaid necklace ($4 at Egg + Friends) and Teeny Tiny Optics sunglasses ($24 at Egg + Friends).
