Woman, 18, critical after Wissinoming shooting
The victim was shot three times just before 7 p.m.
An 18-year-old woman was critically wounded in a shooting Monday night, reportedly in the city’s Wissinoming section, police said.
Shortly before 7 p.m., the woman was shot three times, she later told police, in the area of Van Kirk and Hegerman Streets. A private vehicle transporting the woman was stopped by police at G and Erie Streets, and then the police took the victim to Temple University Hospital.
Police investigated the area where the woman said she was shot but could find no evidence of a crime scene, said Chief Inspector Scott Small. There also were no 911 calls reporting gunfire near the intersection.
No other details were immediately available.
