Political Cartoon: Vaccinating against shootings
Daily takes from Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Signe Wilkinson.
We’re now commemorating anniversaries of school shootings with news of yet another school shooting. This time it occurred at a charter school a few miles from Columbine High School outside Denver, Colo., where 13 people were killed on April 20, 1999.
Americans own approximately 393 million guns, up from approximately 270 million civilian-owned guns in 2007. Having more guns around hasn’t seemed to do anything but allow more people to own and use them. If we had multiple kids dying in a single school from some ordinary disease, we’d find a vaccine. We can barely even study gun violence in this country. Stay well, America.
